Day 2 was actually yesterday, but I was pooped and didn't post. The packers took the stuff slated for storage, so it's all gone.
They say "home is where the heart is," but sometimes it really feels like "home is where your stuff is." Seeing our place completely empty really made it not feel like ours any more.
One glitch with the packing was that we realized that the guy who packed up the kitchen stuff packed up some things with the HHE (surface) that we had marked to go to storage. Not only will we have some bulky items go to China that we don't use much and will have NO room to store (big silver chafing dishes, a fondue pot, a food processor), but it also included a few propane gas cans that are used with our portable Korean grill. (No flammable/exploding items are supposed to be packed in HHE or air freight.)
We told them about it, and one of the guys "called" and "talked" to someone wherever our stuff was, and he said that they would take the propane cans out. Anyone want to put some money on whether the cans will still be there when our stuff reaches China? (Assuming they haven't exploded or combusted before then.)
On another note, we sold the car today. The buyer paid with a fat wad of cash. I also picked up my final check in which they paid out my stored up vacation hours. We are now officially the richest we have ever been (in terms of total $$ in the bank and in the wallet). Of course, it's also the first time I have not had a car since getting my driver's license when I turned 16.
10 days until we fly!

totally not related, but: "god, we love bill gates" came on and earlier in the day me and the new Erin were talking about karaoke and I thought of you singing that one. That and the "cow cow cow" song :)
You are missed!
Have a great trip.
It's probably for the best you have no transportation now that your account just got bumped with all that vacation time you didn't take. (??)
Footloose 'n fancy-free...well, except for that chafing dish.
I hope you have some decent time at the hotel to relax and regroup before starting out on your next adventure! I'll miss you both, and look forward to visiting you!
Have fun! Maybe you'll get to see some Olympics while you are there!
