Packers came and packed up the air freight and the surface freight today. We were under the impression that they were also taking the stuff going to storage, but apparently they are coming back for that tomorrow. They could have done it all today, but I guess they just wanted to be able to bill for a second day.
It went fairly smoothly, but despite our request to do the air freight first (so we would know how close we were to our limit of 450 lbs.) they did it last, so we ended up only having about 350 lbs. in, meaning we could have put another 50-70 pounds of stuff that would reach us in China sooner (gotta leave some of that 450 for the crating).
Anyway, back tomorrow to finish up the stuff going to storage, clean the apartment, and then back once again on Saturday to sell the car.
It's funny how your stuff (well, my stuff, anyway) always seems cleanest when I move -- making sure to clean/dust very carefully for packing it up. Guess I need to try to apply that approach to every day living -- or at least weekly, or even monthly. ;)
