Pre-Gen Con Notes

I'm heading off to Gen Con on Thursday morning. I've started my preparations, but I'd like to hear suggestions on what to take (not that I'll follow your suggestions blindly, but I may consider them) to "The Best Four Days in Gaming."

So far, this is all I've got on my "to take" list:

  • Clothes (enough for each day, plus extra in case a sloppy gamer spills his "big gulp" or chili dog on me in the crowded aisles)
  • Instant hand sanitizer (for when I shake hands with sloppy gamers I meet)
  • Meds (for game hangovers, etc.)
  • Cell phone and charger (so I can contact my sis when I get into town)
  • Digital camera and batteries (you never know what you can capture on film at a geek convention)
  • Cash (it's king)
  • Bottled water (hydration is good)
  • Farscape RPG book (for Gigi Edgley to sign)
And I'm debating about taking a laptop computer (It'd be cool [or at least I'd feel cool] giving nightly updates -- with digital photos -- to folks who couldn't be there). But if I take it, Tahra loses yet another entertainment device while I'm gone (me being the first one she'll lose).

So, sock it to me -- what am I forgetting that I absolutely must take to Gen Con?

Dice? I know there will be cool ones there, but you already have dice, and you'll probably want to spend your funds on other, cooler things. Notebook/folder? Backpack? Super-secret, superstitious lucky item (oh, wait, you'll just use your Jedi mind tricks)..

Shane B. says: a little tape recorder for taking dictation. You won't be able to take notes fast enough, and you may have trouble remembering whether you saw 32 fat women in chain mail or only 31. And when someone does something particularly stupid in the middle of a game, nothing beats noting it in your recorder, in front of his/her face, as you shake your head in disgust.
