There's this guy I know who's a long-time fan of Star Wars and D&D.
This one company, which has run two other companies' Star Wars products that this guy really loved into the ground, now controls pretty much all of the Star Wars products these days. And this company's incarnations of those beloved games are crap.
This company also happens to control the current D&D game.
Not long ago, this company began producing a line of pre-painted miniatures for the D&D line. This guy started collecting them, initially for RPG use, but now also for the "skirmish" game that can be played with them.
This company has now also begun production of a line of Star Wars pre-painted miniatures.
So, this guy really wants to collect the Star Wars miniatures. But he's already well into collecting the D&D ones, and since he actually plays the D&D RPG, the D&D ones seem much more "useful." However, we're talking about Star Wars miniatures -- based on characters from the very stories that prompted this guy to get tattoos (among other things).
He knows he shouldn't collect both, but there is too much temptation since both represent some of his highest priorities in his pursuit of happiness.
So, I toss this out to the collective you: Stormtroopers or Orcs? Wampas or Trolls? Jedi or Wizards?

No brainer here... the marketing is already out for the digitally remastered DVD set of the Star Wars trilogy. Stormtroopers, Wampas, and Jedi's all the way baby!!!

Truly a question for the ages.
I suggest beginning a course of regular blood selling which will provide you with the extra income to purchase both. (I guess prostitution would be another possiblity)
In the event you decide to buy the miniatures, please let us know. I will save a few of my poos that resemble some notable Star Wars characters, like Dengar and Poopie the Hutt, for your purchase at a reasonable price.
As for this present crisis, might I suggest that you purchase both to the extent you can afford them...
I secretly suspect the star wars miniatures will not have quite the staying power as D & D, and that you will have a forever incomplete "set," missing the aforementioned Dengar and Poopie (which can, I remind you, be fashioned from the lookalike doodies).
BTW, has the newly released, and thrice-revised version of star wars reached dvd in Korea, yet?
It probably has reached the Korean DVD scene, but not in a quality I care to purchase or legality level I wish to support.
I am curious about the re-revisions I've heard about for the DVD version.
I think the first edition of Star Wars miniatures might be the ones to get as far as a collectible item. From that point on, you could probably score individual ones you desire through online resources or a hobby store. I think the DnD mini's will keep coming out til DnD is not made anymore so the longevity of it might last longer. However, I don't know what level of collectiblity they will have. I suspect based on the fan base of Star Wars that the mini's for Star Wars will probably be forever worth more.
