The employees at the Gojin Motors VW service center in Seongsu-dong in Seoul are incompetent. They misdiagnosed the problem with the car, and, had they done the work (whether the correct work or not), they still refused to honor an international warranty -- probably because they simply couldn't be bothered with it.
Anyway, after two months of anxiety, the Jetta is fixed. It was not, in fact, the entire $5,000 gearbox as Gojin Motors wished it was. It was a bent rod in the transmission, which "Charlie" of Charlie's Garage fixed for the relatively bargain price of 900,000 Won ($780). One of the other mechanics also fixed the Hyundai's window mechanism while we waited, and we were back home in time for D&D last Thursday.
Now we just need a new TV. Those projectors and LCD widescreens at the PX are looking mighty tempting. Imagine playing Doom 3 or somesuch on a wall-sized screen. Yow.

Glad the cars are in tip top shape. What happened to the TV? The projectors are pretty cool we sometimes get a few of them together and play Halo with them though for one person versions (as opposed to the split screen)it can get you a bit motion sick.Come to think of it Doom 3 is suppose to be pretty gory that might make you really sick.
Yeah, Doom 3 has me jumping and shrieking. I'd just really like to see it on a larger screen.
