Living here does have a few good points. Services are generally pretty inexpensive. We just got the estimate from the moving company, and it looks like the total cost to move all of our stuff will be under $400.
Still not happy about having to spend it, but it would be much worse in other places.

That does seem a good price for an entire move. Hope the new place is awesome... When is the move?
Well, it turns out the insurance would be extra, adding another $200+. So we're looking at other options. Move will be mid-September.
Wow. Even with the insurance that's less than I would have expected. Good luck with your other options though!
Glad I get to see the new place. And hey, you'll have a whole week or so to get moved in before we get there. :-)
I feel some helping with unpacking in my future...
it would normally be between four and six thousand to move a house-worth of stuff. My guess is you get to enjoy the weakness of Chinese $$, and will also, to some extent, get what you pay for.
No matter - very glad you're getting a better place to live.
