I learned today that the original phonetically-built Chinese name for Coca Cola (when it was introduced here in the '80s) was Kē Dŏu Kěn Là. Which translates to "tadpole bites candle." Somewhere along the line, after it was not the hit that the Coca Cola company had wanted, the name got changed to the current Kě Kŏu Kě Lè (literally "delicious, makes you happy").

So, 3 of the 4 Olympic event tickets I have will not be U.S. events. The 4th is still unknown (baseball semi-finals or something like that). Looks like I will most likely be watching the Russian Federation play Korea in handball.
