OK, so it was a busy week, and no time for blogging. So here I am on Friday night, with no real desire to do anything more exciting than shop online for shoes and write up a blog entry. Please enjoy these more-or-less stream of consciousness ramblings:
Got to see some fireworks here on base on Monday; unfortunately Tahra did not because she had to work at the annual Independence Day party at the ambassador's residence.
I found something cool (well, I think so anyway) that I think my Magic-playing buddies from back in the day might get a kick out of as well. Probably not as much as I dig it, but maybe. Anyway, you'll see what I mean when I finally get a chance to deliver them to you.
Started the gears in motion for the search for a place to live in the DC area. We'll see what the good folks at apartmentsearch.com manage to dredge up for us. I'm thinking we should just live in Minneapolis and put up with a really long commute -- especially since the locality pay for MN is almost exactly the same as DC, yet the cost of living is so much different.
Anyone who wants a nice vacation to an "exotic" part of the world, we're recruiting for visitors. We had all our visitors crammed into a two-month span last September to November, and we're hoping someone will come this summer. Koelman, I'm looking at you...
Next week is going to be a b!+(h with the VIP visit. Instead of giving me the overnight shift like I'd prefer, it sounds like I'm going to be stuck with the 6 a.m. one. Some of you may know how much I adore mornings. Hopefully they'll record everything digitally and send it off to Washington for transcription again this time.

*returns*
Well, just spent like an hour wasting time trying to figure out this game:
Esk Room Escape (click the pointing hand to proceed)
If anyone can figure that thing out, let me know -- 'cause I can't!
