Schism of years

It's less than a week until my 29th/30th birthday.  Well, the 29th time I've celebrated a year of life, but as the Koreans count age, I'll be 30 -- somehow you are 1 year old the moment you are born, and each year adds 1 to the total.  I guess they just start counting the year on the day it begins, rather than counting it once the year has been completed.
In any case, it should be interesting to see how the Koreans celebrate.  I suspect much fruit.

Anyway.

Happy belated, Matt.  Just realized I missed it.

Hey, that means it was just your birthday! I hope you had a happy one! Was there, in fact, much fruit? (Sorry. You know I'm like the worst person on the planet for remembering birthdays and other significant events...)

Actually, I think the Korean system makes sense. Your day of birth is, technically, your first birthday. And you've completed 29 years, but you're in your 30th year, so it sort of comes down to phrasing.

In any case, I hope it was lots of fun!
