This blog isn't dead, just almost dead. Kind of like that elderly relative who gets sent to a nursing home and is mostly forgotten. Sad? Yes. What I wanted? No.
I know there are a few factors that led to this. One is that quicker, easier, more seductive cousin, Facebook. And I can't even think of things to write about there!
Another factor is that I just don't find enough things here that get me jazzed / riled up enough to write about them. Or more accurately, lots of things get me riled up here, but I kind of want to forget this chapter and wait until the next one in the hopes that there will be more exciting topics on the way. I'd rather remember and share the good stuff than dwell on the not-so-good.
At least I can follow up on my previous entry: I finally met with one of the OIG inspectors, only after contacting them near the end of their visit. I told him about the perceived abuse of power by a certain individual at the embassy and the shenanigans that went on with his minions on the housing board. Ultimately, the inspector told me that they had received similar reports from others, but that their objective is to focus on larger issues. In the end, he indicated that their report would merely show that there were "problems" with the housing board and that steps had been taken to rectify the situation (meaning that some of the board members had been replaced). That's it. Well, I tried.
All I know is that if I ever have opportunities for retribution, I will not pass them up.

Well it's nice to see the occasional posts here for those of us who are unwilling to join Facebook.
I'm sorry for you and me that Bureaucracy sucks.
Well in that case I'll keep it alive!
