5th Button Ho!

Well, no one pooped in the urinal at work today, so that's 3 days straight now without that happening. Plenty of other messes I've had to clean up, though -- mostly made by my co-workers in my department while I'm not there.

X-mas shopping is almost all done; this is our slowest year yet to complete it.

I beat Lou on medium today, so I'm moving on up to "Hard" and that daunting 5th fret button. Seems like there's an order of magnitude in difficulty between Medium and Hard, since at that point you have more buttons than fingers. Any pointers on handling it? Do you experienced players out there move your whole hand position, or just stretch the fingers to reach?

You're a pianist, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with the fifth button. As much as possible, I try to keep 2 (using piano finger numbering) planted and stretch 3-5 up to the yellow, blue, and orange keys, because it's easier to not lose your fingering completely if you keep the plant key, and it's always easier to stretch between 2 and 3 than between 4 and 5. Of course, with some songs (or some sections within songs) you're better off moving your whole hand.

Really though, considering you've managed 88 keys with only 10 fingers, I can't imagine that 5 keys with 4 fingers will give you too much trouble for long.
