Booth Babes, We Hardly Knew Ye

I'm back from Gen Con, returned home with a void in my soul unfilled. The relatively skimpy presence of booth babes this year was a bit disappointing. Still, it was a good -- if less cleavage-baring -- time. AK and agent J were my wing men this year; it was very cool to have friends (rather than acquaintances) with which to hang out.

I got in on my usual board game demos, and found a few new ones I liked (if you're curious, check out Conquest of Pangaea, Dragons of Kir, and The Pillars of the Earth). That last one I picked up with the 50% off coupon I earned by completing (thanks to agent J) enough demos to become a Knight of Catan.

We also completed a couple of runs through the True Dungeon. It seemed easier than last year. Was a little annoyed that the operators of TD split the format into "puzzle" and "combat" runs after we had registered -- so we ended up with two puzzle runs. It was entertaining, though I think I'll only sign up in advance for one run in future years.

So, I think a good time was had by all (me, AK, and J), though I am sorry for passing my Gen Con travel curse on to those fine fellows.

On a slightly-theme-related note, I got a bumper-type sticker similar to this one (except mine is rectangular rather than circular): It's a brand of wine that's new to our store. Said (rectangular) sticker comes in each case of wine.
