Smashy Smashy

Well, the night shifts ended with a bang. More of a crash, really.

What was to be our last shift overnight -- because we had exceeded expectations and worked ahead of schedule -- ended with us cleaning up several large frames worth of broken glass. Part of the new setup included a new way to display the framed artwork. It was a metal grid affixed to the wall, upon which shelves were attached, upon which sat the artwork.

At about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, one section of the grid ripped out of the wall and crashed down. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but several pieces of art did not survive. Hastily, we took down the other items and shelving, to prevent another section from coming down. I've had a few days off to revert to a normal sleep schedule (which has been harder than switching to nights), so I haven't been back to the store to see if the issue has been resolved.

I'm at home with Kasha once again, while Tahra visits her family until Saturday (I was going to go along, but a glitch in getting me a plane ticket put the kibosh on that).
