So not only has UPS fucked up lately, but the post office did too. As you may know, I collect (and trade by mail) D&D and Star Wars miniatures. Well, I arrived home on Wednesday to find a trade package in our mailbox. But when I went to pick it up, I discovered that it was completely soaked through with water, and basically fell apart from its own weight. This may not have been much of an issue for the plastic miniatures inside, but the stat cards that go with the miniatures were also soaked. Needless to say, I was/am very upset -- one of the miniatures (with card) trades at around $30-$35.
And in other water-related news, our ceiling now leaks every time it rains. They supposedly fixed it the first time, but clearly they didn't. It's supposed to rain here again on Saturday night, and for all we know they haven't done anything new. Joy.

That bites. Have you had your wife threaten not to pay the rent until the leak get's fixed? Or say you'll hire a roofer and whatever he/she charges you'll subtract from your rent? That type of thingoften gets the landlords going. (this all assumes that I'm right that youare renting and it's not government housing, in which case you probably just want to invest in raim gear)
