Due to popular demand, I'm going to try to bump things up a notch to semi-weekly musings. Originally, this whole blog thing was conceived as a weekly glimpse at my thoughts, but as with most projects I get started on it began to slide away from weekly.
So, with renewed zeal, I give you: Semi-Weekly Blog Entry #1!
Interns. Who doesn't love 'em? Generally the lowest form of office life (though my current position may be competitive there), working for little or no pay, and forced to take on any task they're given. I'm not even a Foreign Service Officer, and yet my bosses are having the interns report to me. Just like my bosses do to me, I get to give the interns the tasks that I don't want to do.
And speaking about pushing crap, a local Steff Hotdog shop had its "Grand Open" (that's how they say it here) today. We stopped by, hoping for some free stuff as most "Grand Opens" feature giveaways, but were repelled by the Korean take on hot dogs, the "nude sausages" that were for sale, and the lack of freebies.
So we wandered down the street to the KFC. I decided to go out on a limb and try the Herb Garlic Chicken. Apparently their idea of "herb" is "covered in black pepper" -- needless to say, not to my liking. Also, instead of the nice biscuits and potatoes that one might expect from a KFC elsewhere, you get a corn "salad" that is more like a cross between coleslaw and salsa, except that it features corn as the main ingredient. Yuck.
To top it all off, the local Baskin Robbins keeps getting great flavors that I really love and then ditching them for nasty stuff. Seems like my favorites are always the things that get discontinued -- in this case, chocolate mousse ice cream and then "cola fizz" ice cream. Now there's muskmelon and some other junk. It goes for other things too: a while back I found a style of dress shoe that looks good, fits, and is comfortable to wear for long periods, and then when they get irreparably damaged by the "dress shoe devouring screen door from beyond" (two different pairs) I discover they are out of production. Now, I know there are other shoes out there, but have you ever tried shopping for shoes online? It's a pain in the [insert sensitive body part name here] since you can't try them on. Especially when you're as picky as I am.
Since I can't think of anything particularly positive to end this entry on, I'll just have to make the next one even more so.

Wow, after what Koelman said can I add anything? I look forward to more regular enteries again.
Go interns...way to boss around the short timers! Is that what's supposed to pass for a good college experience? Maybe it is.
Tough break with the shoes. I felt that way about the 89-90 Air Jordans, and about the Reef casual shoes I wore for an extra two years after they clomped past the "smells like hell" checkpoint. Meh.
Write often, pally-o.
